BASI Compact vs Compact Plus Reformer: What Should You Compare?

The BASI Systems Compact and Compact Plus are closely related reformers. The key published difference is that Compact Plus has an extended frame and longer carriage. Choosing between them starts with room fit and the setup your instruction requires.

Reformer Supply sells both models. This guide compares manufacturer information and current store listings; it is not a hands-on equipment test.

When to start with the Compact

Consider the BASI Compact Reformer when you are planning a dedicated home setup or studio and want to evaluate BASI's smaller frame platform. Check whether its carriage and adjustments meet your instructor's requirements before choosing based on room size alone.

The current Compact listing distinguishes an 81.5 × 23.6 inch frame from a 91.9 × 25.2 inch assembled footprint with the riser and footbar. Leave additional space for exercises and access. A frame-only measurement can underestimate the room required.

When to compare the Compact Plus

The Compact Plus deserves a closer look when additional carriage space is a priority. BASI describes the longer frame and carriage as expanding usable space without increasing equipment width.

That design difference is not a guarantee of fit for every taller user. Confirm the current assembled dimensions, carriage measurements, stopper range and usable travel with Reformer Supply and your instructor. The manufacturer page reviewed for this guide did not provide a complete dimension table, so we have not supplied an estimated Plus footprint.

Compare accessories separately

Both manufacturer pages list handles, shoulder rests, pulleys, ropes, a foot strap, locking carabiners, stoppers and five springs. Ask for a line-by-line quote if your practice requires a sitting box, jumpboard, F2 accessories or tower. Do not assume optional accessories are part of the selected reformer package.

If tower exercises are essential, compare the separate Compact Plus with Tower and other complete tower configurations.

Plan delivery and installation

Our current BASI listings describe made-to-order equipment and a 10–12 week estimated lead time, subject to confirmation. Check timing for your selected finish and US delivery location before ordering. Manufacturer website estimates for another region should not be substituted for your confirmed order estimate.

Measure doorways, stairs and turning spaces. Inside delivery or assembly needs a specific quote. Follow BASI's current handling and storage instructions; the word Compact does not establish folding, stacking or upright-storage approval.

Make the decision around your setup

Compare the Compact first if its verified dimensions and carriage meet your requirements. Compare Plus when its longer carriage addresses a specific requirement worth the additional space and cost. Request a complete configuration quote rather than judging from the product name.

Contact Reformer Supply with your room measurements, preferred model, required accessories and ZIP code. We will help confirm fit and delivery options.
